Regal Custom Poker Tables

Here's how we got started.

Kristin, Bill, and Dave Hello, and welcome to our Web site. We hope the information below will help you understand where we come from and what Regal Poker Tables is all about. Regal Poker Tables is a Division of Dk Poker Tables.

We are located about 25 miles southeast of Des Moines, Iowa in the small town of Pleasantville, Iowa.

In 2000, my wife and I decided to start an Interior Design & Remodeling business. I had been working in the Engineering field for over 15 years and my wife, Kristin, who has an Art and Design Degree from Iowa State University, had been working as a Kitchen Designer for a large corporation. With this new business venture we began working on many projects that required us to build furniture from scratch to match existing furniture and woodwork that our customers already had in their homes. I have been a woodworker for many years and always found the challenge of building things from wood fascinating. We found ourselves building more and more items for our customers such as Kitchen cabinets, and very large built in entertainment centers in family rooms, master bedrooms, and recreation rooms.

Kristin Hard at Work?Late in 2003, a friend approached us with the idea of building him a poker table. He brought a few pictures of what he was wanting from some magazines and wanted us to look at building his table for him. I have played poker for years but never really thought of building a table before. So like all projects that we work on, my wife and I started doing research on the internet to see what was out there. What we found was that all of the tables were either cheaply built or cheap and over priced. We looked at literally hundreds of tables before we came to the conclusion that we needed to design and build a table that was priced reasonably, but at the same time could be place in even the finest game rooms around the world. After looking at all the information we had gathered, we designed and built the poker table that was requested of us. Our friend was amazed and very pleased with how nice the table was. He suggested that we build a few to place in local stores for all to see. The response was amazing to the tables. About a year and a half later we started the web site to support our local customers who saw us at local Home shows. Once the web site was finished we started getting calls from all over the world requesting information about our tables. When orders started flowing in from the web site we were forced to build an even larger wood shop to accommodate the new business. We are still expanding with new avenues and the web site has been changing with our business. Each day we seem to find new challenges in this business venture.

In January 2007 we purchased Regal Poker Tables. We moved all the Regal Poker Tables shop and facilities to our current location In Iowa. We felt that the two businesses would fit perfectly together. That year brought some interesting challenges. The purchase has allowed us to expand in ways we could only dream about. We are constantly adding new products to our web sites.

Bill StampIn July of 2007 Kristin's father, Bill Stamp joined the management team at DK Poker Tables. Bill retired after a very successful career in accounting of more than 50 years. Bill is a very accomplished Wood Carver and he brings another dimension to the custom aspect of our business. With Bill's help the business has evolved yet again. Bill has single handedly streamlined our shipping and receiving department to allow for a better flow of products.
